ed Dead Redemption on PC? Sony PlayStation Store Listing Sparks Speculation
A recent update to the Sony PlayStation Store has fueled speculation about a potential PC release of Red Dead Redemption. The removal of a listing for the game from the store has led many to wonder if Rockstar Games might be preparing to bring the beloved title to the PC platform. While there has been no official confirmation from Rockstar Games, the sudden disappearance of the listing has ignited excitement among fans eager to see Red Dead Redemption on PC.
Rockstar Games, renowned for its Grand Theft Auto series, appears to be preparing a PC release of Red Dead Redemption. Originally launched in 2010 exclusively for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, this open-world action adventure has not been available on PC until now.
A recent update to the PlayStation Store listing for Red Dead Redemption included a surprising note: “Experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation – now on PC for the first time ever.” Although this information was quickly removed, Wario64, a well-known gaming tipster, managed to capture a screenshot of the revised description.
According to the updated PlayStation Store text, the PC version will include the full single-player content from both games, with additional features from the Game of the Year Edition. The PC release will boast enhancements such as support for higher resolutions and framerates, multiple display setups, and spatial surround sound, though it does not mention any multiplayer options.
It’s worth noting that the PlayStation 4 version of the game, released last year, also lacked multiplayer functionality, suggesting that Rockstar might be porting this version to PC.
Earlier this year, a data mine hinted at a PC version of Red Dead Redemption being in the works, but the PlayStation Store update raises questions. If Rockstar were officially preparing a PC release, it would likely have been announced on their own platform first. It’s possible that this information was inadvertently leaked by Sony.
Historically, Rockstar Games has favored console releases over PC, with recent titles like the latest GTA version debuting on PlayStation and Xbox before arriving on PC years later.
